Job Description 

As a Business Analyst, you will be assigned to projects within the Product Delivery, Software Development, and Implementation Services teams as dictated by business need. You will work with colleagues and stakeholders to investigate and model business functions, processes, information flows and data structures using a range of business analysis techniques. Your input will be utilized in the development and enhancement of a client facing product, implementation of new client business, data analysis, and review of existing business and processes. 

This position is full-time in our Sacramento, CA office and will report to the President. Your direct report will be determined by the assignment(s) you receive. 

Job Duties  

Current State Analysis: 

  • Coordinate with legacy system users/subject matter experts to understand the current state. 
  • Document existing processes and procedures and prepare meaningful and easily understood process diagrams using standard diagramming software such as Microsoft Visio.  

Future State Analysis:  

  • Coordinate with business stakeholders to document and ensure business requirements, processes/workflows, use cases, user stories and key system capabilities are created and stored in a shared environment.  
  • Keep developed documents current as part of the implementation process. 
  • Analyze processes and recommend improvements for architecting new processes, which will address identified gaps and increase process efficiency and effectiveness. 

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Develop use cases and user stories as a key communication tool between the business and system delivery resources. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and project managers to prioritize use cases/user stories to support a phased delivery implementation.  
  • Partner with business stakeholders to develop business cases and project charters. 

Training & Support Documentation:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, changes, and processes for reference and training. 
  • Assist in end-user training and support of the delivered solution. 
  • In partnership with the Client Education team, assist with the creation of job aids, user guides, and/or additional training and support collateral to support the to-be implementation. 

Issue Resolution:

  • Partner with stakeholders and delivery partners to track, investigate, and resolve system-related issues. 

Perform other duties as assigned by the project managers.


Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems from an accredited college or university 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a functional business analyst for CMMS or EAM-related projects, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms 
  • Ability to work independently as an individual contributor on complex, large-scale cloud-based applications 
  • Demonstrated success documenting and delivering CMMS/EAM IT implementation projects 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in business process/workflow automation 
  • Previous experience preparing business cases or writing project deliverables, including functional requirements technical memorandums, user stories, and requirements traceability matrix 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external customers 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams 
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given 
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivery high-quality results 
  • Highly organized 
  • Experience with data analysis and migration 

Preferred: 

  • Prior project delivery experience 
  • Knowledge of municipal utilities and/or public works 
  • Understanding of relationship databases 

Salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience. This is a full-time position based in the Sacramento, CA office and will report to the President.
